Dishwasher Check-up in Mount Prospect:
What a tech should check on a dishwasher:
As dishwasher repair technicians, we check for water and chemical leaks and check detergent, sanitization, and rinse aid chemical levels
We also make sure the rinse arms are moving freely during the dishwasher operation.
We inspect dish racks for any signs of bending or damages and check if dishwasher turns automatically.
The dishwasher must be at an optimal temperature of approx. 165°F (73.9°C) to 180 °F (82.2°C)2
Inspect the drains to see if they open and close properly and look at the dishwasher timer and motor to make sure they are operating properly.
Last but not least, we check the dishwasher water intake filter to make sure it is in place.
Our technicians have years of experience working on dishwashers and they are always ready to check these things while inspecting and troubleshooting dishwashers.
Average life of a dryer:
The average life span of a dryer is around 10 to 15 years. But that depends on the brand too, how much the dryer is being used and how it is maintained. A dryer eventually wears down especially under heavy use.
If your dryer has been around for a decade or more, there is a chance that it will start to break down eventually. If you need to repair your dryer, consider these two things:
Is the repair cost more than half the cost of a new one?
and how close is your dryer age to the 10 to 15 years?
if the repair cost is more than half or the age is closer or more than 10 years, it probably isn’t worth the repair. You are better off buying a new one.
Of course, there are always exceptions as some heavy-duty dryer like Speed Queen for example can last much longer and the cost of a new is much more than other brands.
